Dave Wade, and aspiring guide and rookie Ski Patrolman broke the 22-year old record for the "Climb to Tower 9" last weekend at Snow King Resort in Jackson.

As Dave describes it, the "Climb" is an annual event, and rite of passage, for all the rookie Snow King ski patrolman, of which there were about 15 this year. The rookies have to make the climb, with their skis on.

Dave said most were able to herringbone up to the 3rd tower, before they were forced to begin side stepping up the mountain. But he was strong enough to herringbone to Tower 6, making up time, and breaking the old record of 29 minutes. Dave made the climb in 26.
